I have loved tending to my small garden this summer, especially since we were spending so much time at home. I grew tons of cherry tomatoes which grew taller than me and are still producing into September! I gave bowls away to neighbors and friends. I didn't have to deal with any bad worms until about mid August when I used Neem Oil which I ordered from amazon.com. It worked great to control the nasty critters and it isn't harmful to plants, pets or humans!
I also grew Roma Tomatoes and Big Boys. They produced ok, but only had one plant each. Then for the greens....Kale was producing like crazy. I gave a lot of it to my friend Vicki for Ollie, her pet Lizard. Also, I planted a mix of many different lettuces in a huge clay pot and it is still producing great!! Love the fresh lettuce. Marigolds were planted in a part of the garden and they went wild...they also help with the bugs. My cucumber plants only gave me about ten cukes this year and then died off. I think because of all the rain we got this year. I did like the wire fence so they were able to climb and keep off the ground. Easy picking! Next year, I will plant more. SwishChard grew good. Also herbs such as basil, oregano, thyme, parsley grew great! Next year, more herbs like dill, mint and chives....
